The new FOX music reality show Simon Cowell’s The X Factor will air in the U.S. in the fall of 2011. Contestants can be soloist, duets or groups.

The Auditions for the Fall 2011 X Factor USA will be held in 6 cities across America stating in March 2011. You can audition for The X Factor in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, NYC, and Miami.

You can register for an audition online at http://www.fox.com/thexfactor/registration/.  There is no upper age limit for the contest, and the lower age limit is 12 years old.  Rather than singing in front of a panel of judges for the first auditions, hopefuls will sing in front of a large audience of 3000 to 4000 people.  No pressure there, right?  Simon says that it’s important to dress, behave, and dance differently.  Be unique.  Find “your take

The prize is $5 million dollars and a recording contract with Syco/Sony Music.  So, it’s worth the risk!  The first auditions are in Los Angeles at the L.A. Sports Arena at 3939 South Figueroa Street.  You have to get a wristband from the venue on the day BEFORE auditions, and you have to register ahead of time at http://www.fox.com/thexfactor/registration/.

Wristbands will be available from 6:00 AM on March 26th until 6:00 AM on Sunday, March 27th for the LA Auditions.  No camping out is permitted, so plan accordingly.  Hopefuls under 18 years of age need to have a legal guardian or parent with them, and all contestants must be legal U.S. citizens or be eligible to work in the United States.  Nobody with a current music recording contract will be permitted to audition.

If you fit all the criteria and you have your wristband, you’ll be expected at the L.A. Sports Arena by 8:00 AM on Sunday, March 27.  Good luck!
