The X-Factor Judges Nicole Scherzinger
The X-Factor Judges Nicole Scherzinger
Nicole Scherzinger was born June 29, 1978 in Honolulu, Hawaii to a Filipino father and Hawaiian mother. Nicole’s mother was a teenager when she was born and her parents subsequently separated while Nicole was still a young child. Scherzinger professes to having grown up rather poor, and credits her mother with providing unswerving support and dedication to providing her daughter with a good life.
Nicole and her family later moved to Louisville, Kentucky and her mother remarried a German-American named Gary Scherzinger who would raise Nicole as his own. She attended the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, and would later go on to sing back-up vocals for the late 90s group Days of the New.
After a brief stint with the ill-fated girl group Eden’s Crush, Scherzinger would take on her most well-known role as lead vocalist for the burlesque-style Pussycat Dolls. Although her success with the Pussycat Dolls was undeniable, she maintained a desire to complete her own solo projects, and set out to release a solo album a project that has been delayed until this year.
Nicole was named the newest judge on the X-Factor USA amid some controversy replacing Cheryl Cole in an unexpected move on the part of the show’s creators.
